Mommy guilt is real: Anything can turn into a reason to feel guilty.
I’m too strict
I’m not strict enough.
I don’t let them eat ice cream
I let them eat ice cream.
I hide ice cream from them so I can eat it.
I didn’t clean the house because I was playing with the kids.
I cleaned the house so I’m not letting the kids play because they’ll mess it up.
But feeling guilty over everything and anything means that we care and that we really want the best for our kids, doesn’t it?
So, maybe next time mommy guilt taps us on the shoulder, we should embrace it,thank it for reminding how much we love our kids then tell it to go take a hike:)
