Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp, the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly (white) star lit from (the oil of) a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light. Allah guides to His light whom He wills. And Allah presents examples for the people, and Allah is Knowing of all things.
The imaan inside the heart of a believer is described as a lamp. A lamp doesn’t just light up the inside of a shade, the purpose of a lamp is to illuminate its surroundings.
That when we become so inspired by the Quran, by the Words of Allah, people around us will feel its effect – just like the illuminating lamp.
Let’s be that lamp to others. Let’s strengthen our relationship with the Quran, nurture our bond with the Quran. Subhanallah what an opportunity for us that the month of the Quran is coming. There’s something so so special about reading the Quran during Ramadan. Subhanallah I ready can’t waiiiiit for Ramadan!! Allahumma balighna Ramadan:)
Ya Allah, make the Quran the spring of our hearts, the banisher of our sadness and the reliever of our distress.
Ya Allah, place light in my heart, light in my tongue, light in my hearing, light in my sight, light behind me, light in front of me, light on my right, light on my left, light above me and light below me; place light in my sinew, in my flesh, in my blood, in my hair and in my skin; place light in my soul and make light abundant for me; make me light and grant me light.
